Travertine marble stairs for outdoors

Outdoor travertine marble stairs can be considered one of the oldest applications in traditional architecture, along with flooring and cladding.

Their durability over time has allowed us to enjoy symbolic and local projects, such as the fountain in the Plaza Mayor of Albox, for more than 150 years.

This work was planned as part of Albox’s local urban development, following the construction of the famous retaining walls of the Albox dry riverbed at the end of the 19th century.

The quality and characteristics of the local stone in terms of hardness have been one of the main reasons for the durability of the work itself; a stone that today continues to be used for the same construction applications in projects of all kinds.

Currently, the same square has undergone restoration and expansion using the same stone, employing travertine marble from the company Margar Stone, with more than 4,000 square meters of paving installed on the surface.

At present, and thanks to modern working methods, Margar Stone extracts and markets this local stone, reaching every part of the home in all its applications. In this case, installing floating marble stairs for residential access with a 2cm thickness and miter-jointed risers.

At the same time, the rest of the flooring is designed with the same vein-cut yellow travertine, which meets the pool deck area within the property.

On a technical level, another characteristic of gold travertine stone is its C3 anti-slip certification for natural stone, achieved in official laboratories to provide greater guarantees for daily use in projects. This is why it is currently one of the most frequently specified marbles for public square projects and residential exteriors.
