SMOOTH AND GLOSSY
polished finish
The polished finish transforms natural stone into a smooth, glossy, and highly reflective surface.
It is the finish that most intensifies the material’s color and allows for the clearest appreciation of the stone’s veins, nuances, and visual depth.
Its mirror effect provides luminosity, elegance, and a more exclusive feel.
let's differentiate
why choose a polished finish for your natural stone
Unlike a honed finish, a polished finish has a much more pronounced presence. While a honed finish is matte, understated, and contemporary, a polished finish seeks to highlight the beauty of the stone more intensely. For this reason, it tends to work very well in elegant interiors, decorative cladding, murals, fireplaces, bathrooms, custom pieces, furniture, or areas where the stone is intended to be a centerpiece.
In porous materials such as travertine, polishing is usually accompanied by a prior resin or filling process to fill the natural pores and achieve a more homogeneous, continuous, and easy-to-clean surface. This treatment allows the stone to have a more refined and uniform finish, especially when a more sophisticated look is desired.
Compared to finishes such as aged or natural, polishing conveys a cleaner, brighter, and more polished aesthetic. However, it is not always the most suitable for outdoors, swimming pools, stairs, or wet areas, as such a smooth surface can be more slippery when in contact with water. Therefore, we would choose a polished finish when the priority is visual beauty, shine, color intensity, and a sense of interior elegance, but we would consider other options when grip or texture are more important.
